Q: Do you guys live around here?
A: Yes
Q: Do you guys like coming to Pittsford Dairy?
A: Yes
Q: Do you guys only get ice cream here or do you ever get any of the other baked goods?
A (Iyla): “One time we came here for breakfast and we got ice cream for breakfast”
A (Kathy): “We also got a birthday cake here one time didn’t we”.
Interview 2: Lanca Carswell
Q: How long have you been coming to Pittsford Dairy?
A: “On and off for about 5 years now”
Q: How did you hear about this place?
A: “My dentist is across the street and one day I just crossed the canal and saw it”
Q: What is your favorite thing to get here?
A: “Definitely the quiche and I love their pastries too”.
Q: How would you describe Pittsford Dairy to someone else?
A: “As unique and um homey and delicious and comfortable and inviting as it gets”.
Q: Would you recommend this place to a friend?
A: “Absolutely. I’m a retired teacher and me and some of my friends meet here each week for lunch because it’s so inviting”.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add about the place?
A: “The decor is amazing. When they have the decorations during Christmas time it is so lovely and I always buy their wreaths here”.
Interview 3: High School Girls
Q: How long have you been coming to Pittsford Dairy?
A (girl 1): “I have only lived here for about a year so I’ve been coming here for a year”.
A: (girl 2): “Probably since I was born, about 20 years”.
Q: What is your favorite thing to get here?
A (girl 1): “Cookie monster ice cream”.
A (girl 2): “Cookie monster ice cream as well”.
Q: What do you think makes Pittsford Dairy different from other ice cream places?
A (girl 1): “um, there’s different styles of flavors and they are homemade”.
Q: If a friend was visiting the town, how would you describe Pittsford dairy to them?
A (girl 1): “I would describe it as, I guess like a bakery/ ice cream farm-ish area, but like not a farm. I usually just force them to come here”.
Q: Would you recommend Pittsford Dairy to a friend?
A (girls 1 and 2): “Yes obviously”.
Interview 4: Virginia(mom) and Cadence (child)
Q: How long have you been coming to Pittsford Dairy?
A(Virginia): “I would say maybe 5 years”.
Q: What is your favorite thing to get here?
A (Virginia): “Ice cream”.
Q: Do you have a favorite flavor?
A(Virginia): “No, happily they introduce new flavors all the time so we always try what is new”.
Q: What do you think makes Pittsford Dairy different from other ice cream places?
A (Virginia): “The quality of the ice cream is excellent and I love the atmosphere. I love the buzz and how its busy here all the time, there’s a very community like feeling here”.
Q: How did you hear about Pittsford Dairy?
A (Virginia): Curiously I drove by it for probably 10-20 years and never thought much of it. Then somebody told me about it because I am a huge fan of ice cream and I had never heard of it. I became completely hooked after coming once”.
Q: Are you from Pittsford?
A (Virginia): “No we are from Brighton”.
Q: Would you recommend Pittsford Dairy to a friend?
A (Virginia): “We do all of the time! We come here with family and friends probably more than we should”.
Q:What’s your favorite flavor?
A(Cadence): “Um, Chocolate with rainbow sprinkles”.
Interview 5: Older Man
Q: How long have you been coming to P-dairy?
A: “Well, I mean I was coming to it when it was still in the barn across the way, so uh, 15-20 years”?
Q: Is this your favorite ice cream place?
A: “Absolutely hands down. Both that and the eggnog. It’s like none you’ve ever had in your life”.
Q: Would you recommend this place to family?
A: Absolutely. But it depends on how much you have in your wallet because this place sure is pricey”.
